We had a leaky roof and what we thought was going to be a total nightmare and financial disaster turned out to be a relaxing, stress-free and affordable process. Nathan kept communication going and was patient and knowledgeable when I was choosing shingles. We were so impressed we didn't bother getting quotes from other companies. It's W Contracting all the way!
We were fortunate to find W Contracting when we needed a roof replacement. An earlier company kept saying they'd start in a few days and then never showed up. Nathan and his crew were methodical and willing to do the little extras a shingling job requires. Prompt, quick, thorough, and left the site very tidy. A very solid 10 out of 10.
We had Nathan out for a hail estimate and the service was nothing short of remarkable. The estimate he provided, along with his knowledge and advice, was so thorough that even my insurance adjuster took note. I highly recommend W Contracting for all your roofing needs!
We had new shingles put on our home and had a very positive experience with Nathan and his crew. They have a great selection of shingles to choose from and a great warranty. Thank you for treating our home well and making the roof look great.
From repairing the roof, installing new shingles, clean-up and competitive pricing, they were professional and efficient in every step. Would trust them to do a roof anytime and will recommend them to everyone we know.
Nathan came out at 3 am to re-tarp my roof after the tarp was torn off in a storm. They did a fantastic job with everything, including clean up. I would fully recommend them. 5 plus stars.
Nathan was fast and efficient fixing my rain gutter after it blew down during the night! Very friendly, would definitely recommend.
Would recommend Nathan and his team to anyone looking for a quality roof job. They were very accommodating with my time frame, budget and the nature of the job. Left the site clean and tidy. A+

Serving the Bruno community
Local expertise you can trust
We know Bruno, from its German-Catholic heritage homes and institutional buildings, and we build to Saskatchewan code for our climate. Older established prairie homes with strong German-Catholic heritage architecture and an aging roof inventory, including heritage buildings on steep traditional rooflines.
Built for Bruno's weather
Bruno sits in the east-central Saskatchewan hail belt with the same freeze-thaw and prairie-snow exposure, so the May-to-September storm season and heavy winter load drive roof wear here as across the region. Our roofing systems are built for it: ice and water shield at the eaves, full underlayment, GAF shingles, and proper ventilation so your home stays protected year-round.
Local challenges
Common roofing challenges in Bruno, SK
Bruno was built substantially out of its own brick, and the buildings that brick went into are still the ones that decide the roofing work here.
Ice damming and heavy snow load
Heritage buildings on their third and fourth roofs
Storm and wind damage
Attic ventilation in masonry buildings
Eavestrough and drainage problems
We fix the cause rather than the wet spot, so your Bruno home stays protected.
Our community
All about Bruno, SK
Named for Father Bruno Doerfler, who led German Catholic settlers from Minnesota in 1902 as part of the St. Peter's Colony. The town's Bruno Clayworks (1905-1960s) made over a million distinctive interlocking 'T' bricks. Today Bruno is home to about 604 people. Agriculture-based, with a historic clay and brick industry. The Ursuline Convent (1919) and St. Ursula's Academy; Bruno's annual Cherry Festival, billed as the only annual cherry festival on the prairies.
Bruno Clayworks, four kilometres west of town, turned out more than a million bricks between 1905 and the 1960s in a sideways T shape that interlocked when rotated, and many buildings in the area went up in that brick.

Father Bruno Doerfler went on to serve as Abbot of the Territorial Abbey of Saint Peter-Muenster from 1911 to 1919, and the abbey territory that included Bruno was known as St. Peter's Colony. The land around the town is gently rolling, with roughly 80% of it farmed and the rest in aspen groves, wetlands and prairie. That mix matters for a roof: aspen means leaf and twig load in the troughs every fall, and wetland nearby means damp air sitting against the building longer than it would on open cropland.
From German-Catholic heritage homes to institutional buildings, a solid roof matters here, because Saskatchewan weather does not let a worn one slide. W Contracting serves Bruno with honest assessments, clean job sites, and a 10-year workmanship warranty on every roof we install, from emergency leak repairs to full replacements.
Repair or replace? How to tell on a Bruno roof
| Situation | A repair usually makes sense | Replacement is the call |
|---|---|---|
| Roof age | Under ~15 years, plenty of life left | Near or past its rated lifespan |
| Damage extent | Local: a few shingles, one leak, one flashing | Widespread bruising, multiple leaks, bald spots |
| Leak history | First leak, easy to trace | Recurring leaks in different spots |
| Insurance / storm | Minor, below your deductible | Storm damage that qualifies for an SGI claim |
| Cost over time | One fix solves it | Repairs are stacking up year over year |
