Why us
Why homeowners choose W Contracting for roof replacement
Premium GAF systems
We install complete GAF systems with the Timberline HDZ shingle, rated for prairie wind and hail and backed by the GAF System Plus warranty. If you are still working out budget, our guide to roof replacement cost in Saskatoon walks through what drives the price.
The details that last
Sealed flashing, ice and water shield at the eaves, and proper ventilation separate a 12-year roof from a 30-year roof. We get them right.
Most homes done in a day
A staged, organized crew strips and rebuilds most roofs in a single day, with tarps down and every nail picked up before we leave.
How we do it
When a roof is past repair, a replacement done properly should last you decades. We install GAF systems, with the GAF Timberline HDZ shingle as our workhorse, it comes in a strong range of colours and carries excellent wind and impact ratings for prairie weather. A typical 2,000 square foot replacement runs $7,000-$10,000, depending on slope, the number of facets, and the product you pick.
What a replacement day looks like
We load your materials onto the roof a day or two ahead. A dump trailer goes on the driveway so old shingles drop straight into the bin. The crew arrives at 7am, sets up tarps and dropsheets to catch every nail and offcut, and strips the roof to the deck. We inspect the plywood for rotten boards, replace what needs it, then rebuild: drip edge, ice and water shield at the eaves, full underlayment, shingles, ridge venting. Most homes are done in a day.
Why the deck and the details matter
Anybody can nail shingles down. The roofs that actually last get the boring parts right, sealed flashing, ice and water membrane where ice dams form, and ventilation that lets heat and moisture escape so the shingles do not cook from underneath. That is the difference between a 12-year roof and a 30-year roof.
Financing
A new roof is a real expense. We offer financing through Financeit with competitive rates and a typical line of credit, and we can walk you through the application so the cost is not a wall.
Don't put it off over budget. Spread your roof over manageable monthly payments with financing through Financeit. We can walk you through the application and fold it into your quote.

| Situation | A repair usually makes sense | Replacement is the call |
|---|---|---|
| Roof age | Under ~15 years, plenty of life left | Near or past its rated lifespan |
| Damage extent | Local: a few shingles, one leak, one flashing | Widespread bruising, multiple leaks, bald spots |
| Leak history | First leak, easy to trace | Recurring leaks in different spots |
| Insurance / storm | Minor, below your deductible | Storm damage that qualifies for an SGI claim |
| Cost over time | One fix solves it | Repairs are stacking up year over year |

What our customers say
Rated 5.0 on Google · W Contracting Roofing · read them on Google
We had a leaky roof and what we thought was going to be a total nightmare and financial disaster turned out to be a relaxing, stress-free and affordable process. Nathan kept communication going and was patient and knowledgeable when I was choosing shingles. We were so impressed we didn't bother getting quotes from other companies. It's W Contracting all the way!
We were fortunate to find W Contracting when we needed a roof replacement. An earlier company kept saying they'd start in a few days and then never showed up. Nathan and his crew were methodical and willing to do the little extras a shingling job requires. Prompt, quick, thorough, and left the site very tidy. A very solid 10 out of 10.
We had Nathan out for a hail estimate and the service was nothing short of remarkable. The estimate he provided, along with his knowledge and advice, was so thorough that even my insurance adjuster took note. I highly recommend W Contracting for all your roofing needs!
We had new shingles put on our home and had a very positive experience with Nathan and his crew. They have a great selection of shingles to choose from and a great warranty. Thank you for treating our home well and making the roof look great.
From repairing the roof, installing new shingles, clean-up and competitive pricing, they were professional and efficient in every step. Would trust them to do a roof anytime and will recommend them to everyone we know.
Nathan came out at 3 am to re-tarp my roof after the tarp was torn off in a storm. They did a fantastic job with everything, including clean up. I would fully recommend them. 5 plus stars.
Nathan was fast and efficient fixing my rain gutter after it blew down during the night! Very friendly, would definitely recommend.
Would recommend Nathan and his team to anyone looking for a quality roof job. They were very accommodating with my time frame, budget and the nature of the job. Left the site clean and tidy. A+
