Almost nothing in Warman is original. The village that grew up at the 1904 rail crossing, first nicknamed Diamond and later named for Cy Warman, lost most of Main Street to a fire in 1908 and a tornado in 1910, and the rebuild moved over to Central Street.

It reincorporated as a village in 1962 and a town four years later, then became a city in 2012.
