The houses in Hepburn don't share an age. It was a railroad station in the early 1900s and had passed 800 people before the 1930s.
The Depression and the drought pushed it under 300 by the end of that decade, and building picked up again after the war. When the province closed the rail line in 1989, only one of the three elevators stayed up, the 1928 Wheat Pool elevator that is now the Museum of Wheat. Hepburn School marked its 75th anniversary in 2001. Bethany College, a small Bible college, closed in May 2015.
