Warman roofing

Storm and hail damage is what we handle most, and Warman sees its share. Squarely in the path of the August 2025 storm - the warned cell was tracked toward 'Martensville, Warman, and Hague' with very large hail and 100+ km/h winds. Golf-ball to baseball hail, 120 km/h plow winds, a possible nearby tornado. Prairie snow drift, freeze-thaw, and the 1.5 kPa regional ground-snow load all apply.

Here is the problem with hail: the damage that matters is usually the damage you cannot see from the driveway. Hail bruises the mat under the granules. Those bruises shed granules, expose the asphalt to the sun, and turn into leaks a year or two down the road. Wind lifts and creases shingles and tears the ridge caps right off. We get up on your Warman roof, mark every hit, photograph and video it, and give you a straight answer about whether you are looking at a repair or a full insurance restoration.

Most storm-damage roofs around Warman are handled through an SGI or private insurance claim. We are HAAG Certified, which means we inspect the way an adjuster does and can tell real, storm-caused bruising from cosmetic marks. We document the damage thoroughly, meet your adjuster on site when it helps, and lay out a clear scope. No inflated claims, no games, just an accurate record so your policy covers what it should.

Once the claim is approved we strip the roof to the deck, check the plywood for rot, and rebuild it the way it should have been built the first time: ice and water shield along the eaves to stop ice damming, full synthetic underlayment, new drip edge, GAF shingles, and proper ventilation. Every restoration carries our 10-year workmanship warranty.

Why does it matter that a roofer actually knows Warman? Established 1904 where two rail lines crossed - first nicknamed 'Diamond' for the track layout, then renamed for railway journalist Cy Warman. The original Main Street was rebuilt after fires in 1908 and 1910. Warman counted 4,313 private dwellings at the 2021 census with 4,162 of them occupied, and the city went from 7,084 people in 2011 to 12,419 in 2021. Almost none of what stands here is old, because the 1908 fire and the 1910 tornado took most of the original village and the place had dropped back to hamlet status by 1927. What that leaves is a housing stock clustered into a few recent build waves rather than spread across a century. Knowing the age of the housing and the way storms track across this part of Saskatchewan is what tells us how to spec your roof. We reach Warman 20 km north of Saskatoon, via Hwy 11 (Louis Riel Trail) and Hwy 305.

What a HAAG Certified storm inspection looks for

What we checkWhy it matters
Hail bruisingHail bruises the mat under the granules. You often cannot see it from the ground, but those bruises shed granules, expose the asphalt to UV, and turn into leaks a year or two later.
Wind damageWind lifts and creases shingles and tears off ridge caps. We get up there, mark every hit, and photograph it.
Cosmetic marks or real damageWe are HAAG Certified, so we inspect the way an adjuster does and can tell the difference between cosmetic marks and bruising that will cut your roof’s life short.
The deck underneathOnce a claim is approved we strip the roof to the deck and check the plywood for rot before anything new goes on.
Claim documentationWe document the damage with photos and video, meet your adjuster on site when it helps, and lay out the scope clearly. Most storm-damage roofs in Saskatchewan go through an SGI or private insurance claim.

Storm exposure

What storm season actually does in Warman

Warman's storm history is not theoretical. A fire in 1908 and then a tornado in 1910 destroyed most of the newly built village, including most of Main Street, and the population dropped so far afterwards that by 1927 the place had fallen back to unincorporated hamlet status. What stands today is almost entirely modern: the city counts 4,162 occupied dwellings and was the fastest growing municipality in Canada between 2011 and 2016.

That matters after a hailstorm, because a subdivision built in one short window tends to have the same shingle product on every roof, and it ages, and fails, at the same rate across the whole street. Warman is a young city with one genuinely old building in it. The railway station that opened in the spring of 1907 holds heritage status and now serves as a senior citizens' drop-in centre, and the settlement itself was informally called Diamond for the shape the Canadian Northern and CPR tracks made where they crossed.

Everything else came later, most of it much later. That mix, one heritage structure surrounded by subdivisions barely a decade old, means a single hailstorm here produces two completely different inspection jobs on the same afternoon.

FAQs

Warman storm & hail damage restoration questions

My Warman roof took hail. What should I do first?
Call us for a free Warman inspection at (306) 620-9709. The sooner we document it, the better, because insurance claims have deadlines and bruised shingles keep shedding granules. We will tell you honestly whether it is a claim or not.
Do you handle the SGI / insurance side in Warman?
We document the damage on your Warman roof with photos and video and work alongside your adjuster so the approved scope matches the real damage. The claim is yours; we make the roofing side simple.
What if my Warman roof only has cosmetic marks?
Then we tell you that. As HAAG Certified inspectors we will not push a replacement your Warman roof does not need.
